Accelerated Energy Management
Dollars to $ense Workshop
Partners in Project Green and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) invite you to join us on Friday, October 13, 2017, for an exclusive half-day sustainability skills lab to get hands-on exposure to energy management training that can give you the skills you need to build an energy strategy for your facility.
The Dollars to $ense (D2$) Accelerated Energy Management workshop is an opportunity to experience, in a short time, some of the valuable lessons that Natural Resources Canada’s D2$ program has refined over the last 20 years!
This exciting half-day version of the two-day workshop will be an interactive experience. Facilitators will utilize a variety of physical demonstrations, calculation worksheets, graphic slides, case studies and discussion to create a highly effective learning environment. Intended for a broad audience with both technical and non-technical backgrounds, the goal of this experience is to expose participants — no matter the roles they play in managing energy — to effective approaches and tools with which to meet the challenges of energy management in 2017 and beyond.
- Identify and discuss the organizational, technical and behavioural competencies that characterize the organizations that are the most effective at managing energy.
- Identify new savings opportunities and describe the elements of a comprehensive business case for implementation of these measures.
- Identify and develop energy efficiency opportunities using RETScreen Expert and demonstrate results from efficiency actions.

The IESO manages the province’s power system so that Ontarians receive power when and where they need it. It plans and prepares for future electricity needs, and works with its partners to guide conservation efforts.
The IESO, with its partners, promote, monitor, evaluate, plan and invest in energy efficiency, as it is the most cost-effective resource to help meet the province’s energy needs. It does this through a combination of incentive programs, such as rebates on equipment upgrades, and support for training and education initiatives.
The benefits of energy efficiency also extend to other areas. For businesses, improved energy management practices not only result in reduced costs, but they can also improve productivity, operational performance and sales. Working in partnership with local distribution companies, the IESO supports Save on Energy programs and incentives designed to help businesses kick start their energy efficiency efforts.
