‘We give where we live’ came to life on Telus Day of Service |

On Saturday, May 29, Telus employees came together from coast to coast to lend their hearts, minds and hands for TELUS Day of Service (TDOS). This was the historic fifth annual national day of service for the company and they made an enormous impact in 32 regions, in partnership with more than 200 non-profit organizations.
This year, Telus had more active participation than ever before with a record 10,000 team members, Community Ambassadors and their families and friends taking part. Together, they showed true spirited teamwork by participating in approximately 175 volunteer events all across the country. The 2010 theme was all about sharing Telus’ passion for growing healthy and green communities. |

WorleyParsons Canada Ltd. has taken its commitment to sustainability to a new level. As a member of Smart Commute Mississauga, the organization actively promotes carpooling and other sustainable transportation programs to help reduce its carbon footprint and make commuting easier for its employees.
This past fall, the company competed against five other Smart Commute Mississauga corporate members to see which company could register the highest number employees on the Carpool Zone. As an incentive, Smart Commute Mississauga offered employees the chance to win great prizes for participating in the challenge. WorleyParsons Canada Ltd. swept the competition by registering 47% of its employees on the Carpool Zone. |

Females of the two and four legged variety will shine at Woodbine Racetrack on Community Day this Sunday, June 13. The event, which begins at 11 a.m., celebrates Woodbine's numerous valued industry and community partners, who will have interactive displays and interesting demonstrations for adults and children, to which everyone is welcome.

Partners in Project Green recently hosted a sold out seminar on rooftop solar installations.. The packed auditorium heard presentations on the Ontario Feed-In-Tariff, the connection process, technical insights, along with things to look for when procuring a solar solution vendor.
Loyalty One, Morguard Investments and A-Team Strategies shared their first hand experience with installing rooftop solar systems, highlighting the opportunities and also pointing out some the pitfalls to avoid. Loyalty One provided an owner installed perspective, while Morguard and A-Team Strategies shed some light on the rooftop lease process. |

Local companies realize the benefits of Energy Co-op Program |

Partners in Project Green is pleased to announce the successful launch of its highly anticipated Energy Management Co-op Program. This program is designed to connect co-op students from post-secondary institutions with businesses to help build capacity for energy management in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone.
Funded by Enbridge, the Region of Peel, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Woodbine Entertainment Group, the Energy Management Co-op Program provides training and mentoring to students and employers, assisting in identifying and implementing energy efficiency opportunities. |
