In partnership with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Partners in Project Green is excited to announce a greenhouse gas reduction (GHG) program for small-to-medium sized enterprises (SME) in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone.

Funded with assistance from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment’s Go Green Fund, the Region of Peel, the City of Toronto, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), the Partners in Project Green SME GHG Reduction Strategy Program is designed to help SMEs measure their GHG baselines, identify reduction opportunities and publish a strategy for action.

The Charles Sauriol Environmental Dinner, celebrating the work of conservationist and visonary Charles Sauriol C.M., is one of Canada's largest, annual environmental events. The dinner brings together leaders from business and the public sector and their guests for an entertaining evening of environmental learning an raises funds to protect conservation lands in the greater Toronto area.

Each year, dynamic featured guests speakers offers passion and inspiration to almost 1,000 guests who share a vision for conservation and environmental stewardship. To date, the event has raised more than $785,000 and entertained over 9,000 people. This dedication has enabled the Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto and the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust to save thousands of acres of environmentally critical lands for the health and well being of future generations.

The Government of Canada announced today a $1-million pilot initiative to encourage the use of fuel-efficient technologies for heavy-duty trucks. The initiative will partially fund successful applicants, up to $100,000, who install SmartWay certified technologies to increase fuel efficiency.

“Fuel efficiency in all sectors is important to our economy and the environment,” said Brad Trost, M.P. for Saskatoon–Humboldt, on behalf of the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Natural Resources. “By investing in fuel efficiency we will help the industry reduce fuel costs and contribute to a cleaner Canada.”

Green Energy Technologies Inc. is a Canadian corporation in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone that specializes in the manufacturing, marketing and installation of its energy efficiency device called the GET Green System.

Heating buildings, especially in climates such as Canada’s can account for a significant portion of a business’ emissions and energy costs. The GET Green System is a collar with magnetic properties that is placed on the fuel line before the ignition point and is designed to condition the fuel prior to combustion to increase power output, save fuel and reduce emissions.
