The Sustainability Learning Centre and Green Education ON-LINE announced today a partnership to bring 50 new ON-LINE sustainability training modules into SLC’s Green Core Competency Program. The 50 modules range from Sustainability Planning to Green Fleet and Supply Chain Management. Each module is 15 minutes, self-directed and complete with “tests for understanding”. Participants can gain recognition toward sustainability learning certification. Learners can build their sustainability skills around the themes of eco-efficiencies, eco-effectiveness, metrics and planning,” says Kathryn Cooper, President, Sustainability Learning Centre. “These programs complement our instructor-led sustainability programs and on-line Learning Network. The complete package will provide individuals and companies with the professional development needed to implement sustainability strategies.” Global studies of CEOs have identified that sustainability strategy implementation is a difficult process. The programs can be bundled and branded to meet the needs of a company or association.“For instance modules on Greener Food Service Practices can be bundled with Green Cleaning, Green Purchasing and Green Building Programs to provide industry or company basedgreenskill certification,” says Kerry Mitchell, President, Green Education ON-LINE. “We are excited that the Sustainability Learning Centre is joining our growing group of partners in the U.S. and world-wide.” The Sustainability Learning Centre is a Toronto based learning and networking hub for sustainability with a mandate to build the core competencies companies need to be sustainable. Green Education On-Line is based in Tampa, Florida, through their distribution partnerships is on target to educate more than 20,000 professionals in going green by 2013. Each training module provides information and directions for facilitating and developing key sustainability initiatives. Many companies and human resource executives require certain methodologies for on line training and the series meets these requirements as the courses are SCORM compliant, is of the highest quality in design and includes narration, graphics, and superior tests for knowledge.
