"Beyond Buildings: The Green City" 2012 CaGBC National Conference & Expo

Sustainability Learning Centre and Green Education ON-LINE launch new partnership

The Sustainability Learning Centre and Green Education ON-LINE announced today a partnership to bring 50 new ON-LINE sustainability training modules into SLC’s Green Core Competency Program. The 50 modules range from Sustainability Planning to Green Fleet and Supply Chain Management. Each module is 15 minutes, self-directed and complete with “tests for understanding”. Participants can gain recognition toward sustainability learning certification.

Thinking 'outside the box' - an innovative solution to water consumption

As Calstone continues to look at ways to reduce their environmental footprint, they wanted to find a way to eliminate the need for watering their outside plants. These plants are located in recessed planters in front of all the Calstone office windows and therefore don't get direct rain fall. All plants are typically watered once a week using a combination of rain water collected on the roof and city water from early spring until late fall.
