the Partners in Project Green Lunch and Learn Program is the perfect way for organizations to engage their staff in environmental topics at home and work!

Bring your staff together for a fun, engaging lunchtime learning session that will give them tools to improve both their home and work environments. Programs are interactive, delivered by experienced adult educators and are one hour in length. Free handouts are provided for all participants along with two door prizes.

The Dollars and Cents of Saving Energy
Energy production, transmission and consumption are changing in Ontario. Confusion and questions abound. This presentation will explain government incentives for conservation, smart meters, time-of-use billing, and EnerGuide labeling. Participants will take part in a hands-on demonstration, learning how to easily improve the efficiency and comfort of their home with minimal or no expense.

Ditch the Chemicals! Caring for your Lawn the Organic Way
Learn how to keep your lawn healthy and looking good the organic way, even thorough the driest days of summer. This presentation will show you how to choose the right grass varieties, and how to mow, water and feed your soil for a healthy, lush lawn you can be proud of.

What's your Water Footprint?
This interactive lunch and learn will give participants innovative and easy to implement indoor and outdoor tools and techniques to cut their home and office water costs. Your staff will learn what a water footprint is, how to calculate it and what actions they can take to reduce water consumption at home, in the community and around the office.

Ecological Living Room by Room
By going room-by-room attendees find out what chemicals lurch in their bathroom, how to reduce their waste, and live green.

A Little TLC for your Trees and Shrubs
Trees and shrubs provide a multitude of benefits including summer shade, winter wind breaks and songbird habitat. Participants in this hands-on session will learn all about planting, pruning, mulching, watering and feeding trees and shrubs, and how to pick the species that’s right for you.

Follow the Yellow Fish Road
Introduce your staff to the Yellow Fish Road program, a national initiative promoting clean water and healthy habitats! Participants of this 1 hour program learn about the number one way that pollution enters our local lakes, rivers and streams, and what they can do about it. An interactive presentation is followed by an innovative demonstration. Participants can choose to mark local storm drains with yellow fish symbols, or take part in a mock demonstration indoors.

Creating Beautiful Gardens with Native Plants
There are many wonderful native plants available that will add dazzling elements of colour and shape to your garden. This colourful presentation will introduce you to native plants and their many benefits, leaving you with the inspiration and know-how to create your own natural garden oasis.

Gardening is for the Birds
Canadians love to garden and bird-watch. This colourful presentation will demonstrate how to blend these two past-times, creating well designed gardens with year-round beauty and songbird interest. Learn how to strategically choose and arrange plants, feeders, nesting boxes, and water sources to provide the essential elements of life for songbirds.

Carpool Zone Workshop
 
Attendees will learn how the Carpool Zone can help them save time, money, and get in touch with others who are interested in sharing their daily commute to work. This interactive workshop will include a live demonstration on how to register on the Carpool Zone, find carpool matches, and will discuss tips and etiquette for successful carpooling.

Each session is 1 hour in length with a 45-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute question period. Free handouts for all participants and two door prizes are also provided at each event. Each session can accommodate 30 to 50 participants. Sessions are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the scheduled booking. Cancellations after this time will not be refunded. If a gift certificate is the method of payment, the gift certificate will be rendered null and void.
