Through Seneca’s Green Business Management Program, Partners in Project Green has an internship program that can assist your company in realizing the business benefits of sustainability. Students can help your organization:

  • Understand what sustainability means to your organization;
  • Benchmark your existing process for CSR and sustainability against international best practice standards and identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Identify new market opportunities from sustainability; and,
  • Identify ways to reduce your costs and improve productivity.

Students will begin working with your company in October 2011 through April 2012 to complete Sustainability deliverables that best meet your company’s current needs. These deliverables could include a:

  • Corporate Sustainability Report that encompasses your social, economic and environmental impacts and opportunities;
  • Gap analysis of your existing CSR process against international best practice standards for CSR;
  • Implementation plan to integrate social responsibility throughout your organization;
  • Detailed Eco-Efficiency Plan to reduce resource costs and improve productivity;
  • Leadership Model for creating change and a sustainability oriented company culture;
  • Management Plan for implementation and action;
  • Communication Plan to help communicate your efforts to your internal and external stakeholders; and/or
  • Other project of your choosing as arranged with students and coordinator.

There is no cost to participate, but a high-level of engagement is required from participating organizations, including on average working with the student one day per week over the length of the internship. Students will be working in pairs or as individuals depending on the scope of the deliverables you request and the backgrounds of the students involved.

Past Corporate Partner Testimonial
"Our organization found the internship program as part of Seneca College's Green Business Management Program as a way to understand what sustainability meant for our organization. As an end to end provider of supply logistics, we were able to leverage the knowledge of the student to break down what sustainability meant for all areas of the company and start to identify ways to turn it into a business opportunity. Our intern was knowledgeable, well-prepared and took on the challenge to help develop a road map for incorporating sustainability into our everyday business activities."
