In 2006, Lange Transportation moved into a 30-year old, 70,000 square foot building in Mississauga. Before staff even moved into the building, the first electricity bill was $3,800.

Lange replaced the building’s windows with double-paned glass, installed motion detectors on lights in the bathrooms and kitchen, and upgraded light fixtures to utilize T8 and T5 fluorescent lighting.

In addition, to cut down on the number of light fixtures and increase the amount of natural light within Lange’s offices, they installed three solar tubes in the building’s roof to diffuse natural light within the office.

"It means I am part of environmental solution. When I saw an immediate $5,631 savings in one month and realized I'm not part of the energy problem, but the solution, I was convinced that a smart businessperson can also be an environmentalist," shared Eric Lange, President of Lange Transportation.
