The Green Purchasing Team works to develop and implement green procurement opportunities for businesses in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone. Purchasing methods take various forms, from arranging bulk green technology purchases, to negotiating reduced costs for Pearson Eco-Business Zone stakeholders on green technologies.

The Green Purchasing Team has developed the following programs:

• Green Purchasing Alliance - a program that allows companies to reduce the cost of building envelope technologies by between 5% to 45%.
• Green Power Challenge - is a program that challenges organizations within the Pearson Eco-Business Zone to achieve a collective goal of greening 100,000 MWh of electricity from renewable sources.
• Commitment to Buy Green - a program to engage companies in green procurement, while providing a range of tools to help operationalize their programs.

The Green Purchasing Team continues to work on new green procurement solutions as opportunities arise.
